The programme is based on a combination of academic, problem-oriented and interdisciplinary approaches. Lectures, workshops, study groups, portfolio work and exercises are just some of the elements you will meet.

You will gain knowledge about how the use of theories and methods within positioning and mapping, geoinformatics and land management and governance can support the efforts needed to reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

You learn how to work in an interdisciplinary way within the profession and to asses and analyse problems related to surveying, geoinformatics or land management. You will be able to point out solutions and to communicate about the issues to both professionals and non-professionals.

Problem based learning is the pedagogical model of Aalborg University. The method has become both nationally and internationally recognised by universities, researchers and students. In practice, this means that you will work closely together with your fellow students on solving real life problems in your semester projects.

• Project in Surveying, Geoinformatics and Land Management in a Cross-disciplinary Perspective (15 ECTS)
• Course in Managing the Use of Land (5 ECTS)
• Course in Geocomputation and Spatial Analytics (5 ECTS)
• Course in Positioning (5 ECTS)

Project in elective topic ¨C one of the following:

• Land Management (15 ECTS)
• Positioning and mapping (15 ECTS)
• Geoinformatics (15 ECTS)

Followed by:

• Course in Spatial Planning and Governance (5 ECTS)
• Course in Geovisualisation and Remote Sensing (5 ECTS)
• Course in Property Rights and Land Use Regulation (5 ECTS)

One of the following options:

• Option 1: Project Semester ¨C with or without an integrated project-oriented study in an external organization (20 ECTS)
• Option 2: International or national credit at another educational institution in Denmark or abroad (20 ECTS)

Followed by:

• Course in Project Management and Project Economy (5 ECTS)
• Course in Special Themes for Chartered Surveyors (5 ECTS)

• Master¡¯s thesis (30 ECTS)
