Here you will find all the information you need about the admission requirements for bachelor's programmes at Aalborg University for EU/EEA applicants.

Who is this for?

If you have completed an upper secondary school exam from an EU/EEA, country this guide explains what you need to apply for a bachelor¡¯s programme at Aalborg University.

Key Deadlines

  • Application deadline: 15 March, 12:00 noon (CET)
  • Documentation deadline: 5 July
  • By 28 July, you will receive an offer of enrolment if you meet the entry requirements and national admission coordination allows it
  • Deadline to accept or decline your offer is 5 August

All applicants must fulfil the general entry requirement as well as the specific entry requirements.

What programmes are taught in English?

All other programmes require Danish at A-level or the Study Test in Danish as a Second Language.

How do I apply and application deadline?

    Digitally fill in an application form for each programme you are appying for

    Apply via optagelse.dk before 15 March at 12.00 noon for all international applicants.

    Submit your signature page

    Print, sign, and email the Signature Page to bacheloroptag@aau.dk before  the deadline 15 March. Your application process is not completed until the Signature Page is received at The Admissions Office.

    Log into UniStart

    Track your application in UniStart (you¡¯ll receive login details by email).

What documents do I need to upload? ?

Upload these to optagelse.dk:

  • A copy of your upper secondary diploma in the original language?
    • ?Only applicants with a diploma/school transcript in Greek or Cyrillic letters must also upload a school transcript translated in English verified by their school
  • English test result (if required)
  • Grade sheets (last 3 years)
  • Statement of hours - Verification form?
  • Curricula for specific subjects (translated + verified)
  • Passport copy

Only complete applications will be considered.

Quota 1 and Quota 2 Explained

These apply only to programmes with restricted admission (e.g., Economics and Business Administration, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology).

  • Quota 1: Most places go to applicants with a comparable upper secondary exam. Selection is based on GPA.
  • Quota 2: A few places are available. Selection considers grades in required subjects and up to 12 months of documented relevant work experience or education.
    • If you are in doubt whether your activities will be taken into consideration, we advise that you submit documentation for all your activities, and The Admissions Office will select the activities that serve you the best.

What happens after I apply?

  1. Confirmation Email
    After you send the signed signature page to bacheloroptag@aau.dk, you will receive an automatic email confirming that your application has been received.
  2. Access to UniStart
    Within a few days, you will get an email with a password for our self-service system, UniStart.

    You must use UniStart because the Admissions Office communicates exclusively through this platform. In UniStart, you can:
    - Track your application status
    - Receive important updates
    - Accept or decline your offer of enrolment
  3. Email Notification
    Whenever new information is available in UniStart, you will be notified via the email address you provided at www.optagelse.dk.
    Tip: Check your spam folder regularly to avoid missing updates.
  4. Offer of Enrolment
    By 28 July you will receive an offer of enrolment if you meet the entry requirements and the national coordination allows it. 
  5. Deadline to Respond
    The deadline to accept or reject your offer is 5 August
    Please note you must respond through UniStart.
