You must hold a qualifying exam. You can check if your upper secondary school exam is considered qualifying for university studies in Denmark at this website: Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science.

Please note that you must upload a copy of the original diploma and a copy of your diploma translated into English and verified by your school. You must upload this to your application at www.optagelse.dk

Specific entry requirements differ from programme to programme and are referred to as specific subjects passed at levels A, B or C (Danish upper secondary school levels ¨C A-level being the highest level). Therefore please note that A, B and C refer to the course level - not grades.

In order to fulfil the specific entry requirements you must document having passed certain specific subjects at the required level A, B or C.

Assessment of your subject levels from your upper secondary school exam is based on a comparison with the specific subject levels in the Danish upper secondary school based on guidelines from the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. This assessment is solely made by the Admissions Office at Aalborg University.

Bachelor's programmes offered in English at Aalborg University require that your command of the English language is equivalent to level B (Danish level) in English. Level B (Danish level) in regards to languages is considered equivalent to level B2 referring to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Applicants applying for English taught Bachelor's programmes must submit the results of one of the below mentioned IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge or ECPE tests with the required minimum scores ¨C by uploading the test results to www.optagelse.dk.

We do not accept IELTS and TOEFL tests that are more than 2 years old at the time of the application deadline.
We do not accept the ¡°TOEFL MyBest Scores¡±.

Danish B level in english (minimum requirements)

• IELTS (academic test): 6.5 overall band score
• TOEFL (internet-based + TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition test): 85. Please register our institution code 8892 when taking a TOEFL test.
• C2 Proficiency (CPE): 180/level C1
• C1 Advanced (CAE): 180/grade C
• ECPE: Passed test including certificate

Please note that Aalborg University will verify all tests at the specific test center.

The following conditions apply for being exempted from submitting an English test

• Applicants who have passed either 'English level B' or 'English level A' in upper secondary school in Denmark.
• Applicants holding a Danish, Nordic, German, International Baccalaureate (from the IB diploma programme), European Baccalaureate (from Schola Europaea) qualifying exam with an English level the Danish Agency for Higher Education considers equivalent to a Danish B level in English.

For Bachelor's programmes taught in Danish, you must be able to document sufficient oral and written proficiency in Danish. You must have passed the Study Test in Danish as a Second Language (¡®Studiepr?ven i Dansk¡¯) or Danish at A-level (Danish level).

Exemption

Students from the Nordic countries are not required to pass a Danish language test to be enrolled in programmes where Danish is part of the entry qualification. However, applicants must document proper level.

Usually, you must meet all entry requirements by 5 July. Otherwise your application will be rejected.

Conditional enrolment means that you must meet the specific entry requirements by 1 September instead of 5 July.

For entry restricted programmes conditional enrolment is only a possibility in quota 1 and it is only a possibility in case you are able to attend further classes during July and August and pass a test. Furthermore, conditional enrolment is only a possibility if you cannot meet the specific entry requirement for only one subject.

You must apply for conditional enrolment by 15 March when applying for a place in the programme in general. If your application for conditional enrolment is approved, you are allowed to meet the entry requirements by 1 September. It is exclusively for the Admission Office to offer an applicant conditional enrolment.

Please note that if you are offered a study place in a programme, all your lower priorities will be cancelled. This means that if you have been offered conditional enrolment but fail to fulfil all entry requirements by 1 September, then you will not receive another offer for your lower priorities.
